Yesterday's mini challenge was won by Bridger's Boys, with over a thousand more points than any other team!
Then came the suprise of the weekend, Maggie was crowned "Best Dressed Car".
We got up this morning nice and early to start the 700 mile trip back to Calais and our ferry, unfortunatly Maggie had other ideas. 12 miles out of Nice, her clutch gave up : (
After alot of slowly driving around garages(to no avail), the writing was on the wall. We weren't going to make it back today. Drastic actions were taken and flights arranged back to England. Maggie was scrapped.
RIP Maggie
1994-2009
That Technicolor yawn must cost Mr Bridger at least another hundred quid.
ReplyDeleteSad news about the Iron Lady; there is a corner of a foreign scrapyard that will always be a little part of England....
I have enjoyed reading about your adventures.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to read that poor Maggie was not destined to return to Blighty, even with four brand new tyres!!!
The Blues Brothers have returned successfully to base. Back to civvy street!!!!
Good luck guys,
Mrs Blues
When our youngest son and his mates ex Royal Mail Sherpa Mini Bus broke down on a skiing trip to France they stripped their passion wagon of anything sellable and brought that back in their replacement hire cars. This included two rear bench seats from Jaguar S Types, audio gear and whatever wheels still had enough tread to pass an MoT. The RAC is their best friend closely followed by the French Taxi Drivers who got them from the hire car office to the ferry port!! Pete and Angela.
